My job is essentially about golf - a sport I know nothing about. So today they took me and the other new employee (he will be representing Sweden)to Mizuno's national fitting centre. First I got to try some different irons and the driver on the range and afterwards they showed us how custom fitting is done. Actually kind of fun and I always thought of golf as very boring.
Afterwards our teamleader took us out for lunch at the local pub, so yes, a good day at work indeed. I'm really enjoying it, my colleagues are so friendly and helpful.
Now I need to start memorising some of the ratios and appraisal techniques for Financial Management. Yeay for studying and full time work!
The wall shelf in our bedroom fell down this morning and some of the things on it must have fallen on my laptop which was on my nightstand because the screen looked like this when I started it up this evening:
CRAP!!! I'm pretty sure that's not covered by the warranty... wonder if it will be worth repairing.
Just had a painful underarm wax treatment. It hurts a bit now... the skin is all red. How am I suppose to not use deodorant tomorrow at work?
We went into London last Sunday with Christin and Martin and met up with Ingrid in there. Walked from National History Museum to Buckingham to Trafalgar Square to Big Ben and back. The good thing about Sundays is that parking is free. It was a nice day compared to some of the awful days we've had lately.
The new job is going well. Really nice co-workers. Very relaxed atmosphere. I'm really happy with it, but it is extremely hard for my brain to understand that from now on there will be no more "student" routines - meaning no routines - and for a flegmatic like me that is hard to process. But I guess I will get use to the 9-5 life eventually.
Now I need to put all my notes and articles from the course into folders so that I will be able to find what I need when I start revising for the exams.
Yesterday was really nice. We went to Streatley and took a walk along the Thames before going to the Swan and having a proper English Afternoon Tea. I've never tried it before so I was very excited. It was very filling and that clotted cream is like a seal in your stomach.
Afterwards we watched a movie and went to bed at a quite decent time (for us) so that we would be ready to go to London today. We'll probably stop by the Science and Natural history museum.
Just picked up Christin (Andreas' sister) and her husband Martin from Gatwick airport and are now ready for bed. Christin is very pregnant and it's so cosy for some reason to know that there's a little person inside her whom I can't wait to meet.
We finally washed all the new pots from IKEA and put the frame up on the wall. Sorry about the picture quality, it is not so good because I took it with the camera in the laptop but I didn't want to go get my camera and the wire.
I watched New Moon this evening... kind of disappointing I have to say. Very bad acting and horrible story. However, I just kept thinking of Anna the whole way through. I think they look so much the same.
But Anna is prettier!
What do you think? Do they not look totally alike?
... and put it all into old ice cream boxes and now we're hoping for it to start to sprout.
In fact the basil in the kitchen is starting to show. We're hoping to set it out in the end of April. Will be fun if we would be able to eat homegrown vegetables this summer.
Yesterday we went to Ikea and here are just some of the things we brought with us home. We had gotten a gift card from Taylor and Filip for Ikea and gosh were we happy about that because it basically covered a third of the bill. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS!
I also bought a big frame for our living room. I'll try to put it on the wall tonight and show you a picture of the outcome.
Andreas eating a vegetarian hotdog while we're waiting in the queue to pay.
YES! Today was my last day of getting up at 5.45 in the morning. Now I have three days of sleeping in. Tomorrow night we're going to IKEA (it has actually been a while now so don't judge us hehe).
On Monday I'm starting my new job and to be honest I'm feeling a bit nervous about full-time work AND exams and dissertation this summer. I might be risking my grades... it's hard to weigh what is most important; to do well on the new job and create a good impression and closer relationships with the other staff members or study hard (and probably be tired at work) to try to achieve a distinction...
Oh and our Wedding photographer created this great album, you should go have a look:
It's Easter Break for me now. I am working on Monday and Tuesday next week but Wed, Thurs and Friday I have off. It's soo nice. Yesterday was so nice. I haven't been out in forever. Just went pub hopping with a couple of friends and all the guys were so nice. It's weird thinking that I'm probably not going to see some of them again... :(
This weekend will be devoted to relaxing. We are going to watch Girl with Dragoon Tatoo now. I already saw it in the cinema once but I want to watch the next one with Andreas and he still hasn't seen the first. So that is what is on the agenda this weekend. We'll try and watch both of them.
So tomorrow I'm guessing we'll be watching the Girl who Played with Fire.
I'm tired. I feel apathetic... I think that is the word of the week. I can't wait for tomorrow to be over. I wish a was actually more worried about the test, that might get me motivated... Back to reading.
Oh no! I fell a sleep yesterday when I was supposed to finish my essay. That means that I'll have to finish the essay AND revise for the test tomorrow today. crap.
John Blund massive attack last night...
P.S. I think John Blund is called the Sandman in English... he is the little man who makes children go to sleep at night.
I did well today at work and therefore got off an hour earlier. Which meant I had some time to spend in Reading. So I went to the Oracle and found some more rewards for myself. Bought 3 pair of shoes :O that were on sale:
All 3 are from Faith.
Now I'm in bed and trying to finish a 1000 word essay for Corporate Social Responsibility on Friedman's article "The Social Responsibility of Business is to increase its profits". But I can't wait to sleep, I'm sooo tired today.
I got through yesterday. No sleep (literary) between Thursday and Friday. Sent in the essay around noon and had a presentation at 4pm. Or I was supposed to have a presentation at 4 but everything got delayed so I ended up presenting at about 6pm. Zzzz so hard to stay awake even for my own presentation.
But now I have slept for about 12h and I'm in bed eating breakfast and I have just started watching the show Cougar Town (I'm now on episode 2) with "Monica" we'll see if it turns out to be something I like. Have you watched it? Did you like it?
Oh and I have kind of started to dream about going to Hawaii to visit Ida and go to a wedding in September... we'll see if it's possible. Will have to wait until I've started work to find if I can get time off at that time. It would be amazing!
It would be 3 days after handing in my dissertation. Perfect timing! :)
I just handed in my Leadership essay online... thank heavens that is over. All these leadership gurus and their inability to propose arguments that can relate to reality :) I tried to lie in bed from about 7-8 am but couldn't fall asleep so I got up and continued with they essay. And now it's finished. Can't believe that the race is almost over, that it looks like I'm making it through.
Last night in the zombie hours (that is between 1-5am in the morning when there is hardly any activity on facebook) my cute sister stayed up and talked to me on facebook. The crazy nut was folding laundry :P I guess there's something genetically wrong with us Anita.
Now I need to take a quick shower and get ready for my presentation at 3pm, and then it's weekend. The best thing in the world :) Andreas will be coming home and minute now...
Now it's nice having skinny trimmed legs but these girls. I don't even understand how they walk. Is this genetic or are they on some extreme no-food-diet? And how do they manage to walk their legs are soo long. I'd like to have long legs and short upper body, but this looks photoshopped...
I am back home already. Got up and got to work but about an hour before lunch I started getting a horrible migraine. Around noon my head was pumping and my stomach was twisting and I thought I was going to die. Asked one of my co-workers for some pain killers and one guy said he had something special for migraine. I had no idea what it was he offered me but it must have been some of the heaviest pain killers I have ever tried. I fell a sleep in the bathroom they found me about 30min later and then I was sent home. I'm feeling fine as long as I am in bed, but as soon as I stand up I feel like my eyes are going to pop out and that I will faint. HORRIBLE! and kind of embarrassing... wonder what they're thinking about me at work now since I wasn't in last Tuesday either because of the cold.
Why am I getting sick all the time lately...?
Oh well, I will try and study a bit now for my leadership paper that is due on Friday.
Right now I'm in bed with my laptop. Have been studying for a while but decided to give myself a break and watch an episode of Private Practice (the spin off of Grey's Anatomy) and eat some dark chocolate.
Today I got off work an hour earlier because I managed to get two leads and meet all the "requirements" (120 min, 80 calls). Which was really nice. Went by the tanning studio on the way home to feel some heat on my body and to prevent my skin to get all see through and grey.
This weekend Ingrid was here. She now has an apartment and a job in London (congratulations again) and it was her birthday last Thursday so we had bought her Ben&Jerry's and then we watched movies and was lazy all weekend. WONDERFUL! =) We watched Men who Stare at Goats (all the fun stuff is in the trailer aka I don't recommend it), and Bröllopsfotografen (a Swedish movie, I would give it 2 out of 5) and then Sunday evening we watched Gamer. Gerard Butler is always nice to look at, some good thoughts a la Matrix but the emphasis was definitely on the action scenes rather than the story (I'd give it a 3.5 of 5). So that is my reviews for you :)
I have another day at work tomorrow (up at 5.45 again) and then on Friday a presentation and an essay needs to be in. And then next week there's a test AND and assignment on Thursday, but then after that I have 3 days of HOLIDAY!!! I can't believe this spring term has passed so fast. I can't wait to get a "normal" life in September when all assignments and essays are due.
Oh and btw, Anita's team won gold this weekend at the Indoor Football tournament at Vejlefjord. WOHOO!
Hi there, I have a poll running and you can find it out on the right side of the screen underneath my links. I would appreciate it if you would just let me know whether you know me or not. It is interesting to find out who my readers actually are. So if you would please I would really appreciate it!
