Accomodation

If you haven't booked anything yet please make sure that you find something before arriving, so that you are sure to have a place to sleep.
On our website there are some links to hotels and hostels that you can check but we recently found another cheap option
http://teotess.se/

Just make sure that you book a room in Linköping, not in Norrköping. They are located in both cities.

See you soon!

allergies/vegan/vegetarian

If you did not mention allergies or preferred diet specifications, you will be served the same food as everyone else. We can only cater to your preferences if you have told us about them. Please make sure to contact my mother on the same contact details as for the RSVP and let her know if you are vegetarian, vegan or have any allergies and hopefully the caterers will be able to make an alternative for you.

Thank you

Last date for items during the programme

So today it is July 1, and exactly a month until we tie the knot. We are hoping that all of you who are coming have had a chance to think about whether and what you would like to do during the wedding party. A speech, a song, a poem, a slide show, a video or anything else you might have thought of. If you have can you PLEASE let our toast madame and master know as soon as possible so that they can plan the evening and make sure that we have the equipment necessary for your item.

Andreas and I really appreciate the time you put into making our wedding day special, and the party would be nothing without the participation and presence of all our good friends and family.
We can't wait to have a fund day and night with you.

bestman

And so Andreas finally decided who he wanted as a bestman, and the winner was Karl-Gunnar Eriksson. The two lived together in the dorm at Ekebyholm for a couple of years, and KG has visited us here in England twice already. He has always been extremely helpful when it comes to computers and many other things. He is just a generous and super nice guy, and we are happy to have him in the wedding party.

(Took the nicest picture I could find of you KG)

wedding waltz

So I think Andreas has been convinced that there should be a first dance, and so we will probably try and do it the Danish way.l And who better to show you how it is done in Denmark than the Crown prince and Mary at their wedding?

Notice how the crowd moves closer and closer... Not intimidating at all =)

So now we have to practice, practice, practice... hehe. As long as he doesn't step on my dress so it tears, I don't care how it goes :D

invitations are sent

Finally all the invitations have been sent in the mail, so you should receive them in the next couple of days. I am so excited! I can't wait for you to RSVP, please don't wait to last minute, and definitely not after June 1.

I made about 25 of them myself and the remaining 50 were made by Andreas' parents. (Thank you so much).

Here are some pictures:

The next thing on the list is the caterers. By correspondance I limited it down to two options, and Andreas' parents will go and try them out. I am a bit jealous that I don't get to go, but that's part of the problem with living in a different country.

Oh and by the way. The dress has been ordered. Such a hassle for some reason. THey weren't exactly cooperative. But now it will hopefully be here before the 1st of August. If it isn't I will cry! (I probably would...haha)

5 months left

Time goes extremely fast. I'm not sure if it is age or what it is, but lately I've found that time just goes faster and faster, and suddenly a day, a week, a month is gone and I've hardly noticed.

Today it is only 5 months left until the big day. So much left to do!!!
But actually today we have found a photographer for our wedding. She had a special deal avaiable for the 4 first couples who contacted her. I thought her work on her website looked really good, and we get her for appr. £110 for the day, then we get the picutres on a cd-rom and have to develop the picutres ourselves.

Secondly, we've almost decided catering. We will probably call them tomorrow and get some more details from each of the 3 left on our list; Asado, Kockduon and Delikatessbutiken. This is a point on my checklist I am really eager to cross out. As soon as this is settled, I would feel much less stressed I think, because then we have food, venue, church, pastor, and as soon as the invitations reach you we will have guests. And then that IS a wedding, the rest is details (that I have an ability to get very caught up on hehe)

On Friday we took some pictures for the wedding invitation. Dear Kaitlyn helped us out and offered her expertise :) Thank you.

wedding dress

So I (marianne) have been to wedding dress shops in Copenhagen and in Sweden, and whatever I tried on whatever store, whenever there was a dress that I felt: This could be it! It was always a Benjamin Roberts (UK name)/Enzoani (US name). However they felt like they were way out of my price range. So I started looking online for used dresses and soon figured out that a used wedding dress in the UK costs the same as a new dress from the US. For a while I was thinking about ordering it from China (Millybridal/Kanacca/1koo) but the more I thought about it the less I wanted to do that. So now I've limited the Enzoani collection down to my 4 favourites. They are all available in white, diamond, gold and ivory. I will go with ivory since it is nicer with my skin. But now I'd like your help:
Which one do you like the best?

Ankara

Avery

Bastia

Beirut

Write your oppinion in the comments!

UPDATE!!
I chose Bastia and it was a great choice if you ask me. Now the beautiful dress is for sale, so if you are interested you can contact me by writing a comment.

Church? check!

I (Marianne) just came off the phone with the church, which is now booked! Every evening before I fall asleep I've been thinking "Gosh, we still haven't booked the church." And started worrying and not been able to sleep. But then in the mornings I always had something else on my mind, or simply forgot. But now it is done.

3pm in Kärna kyrka, August 1, 2009

The church is pale yellow outside, and white inside with chandeliers and big windows. I really hope it will be beautiful. But most places are when you throw in some flowers... voilá! :)

See you there? :)

Welcome

This is our temporary wedding website.

As soon as the invites are out (probably end of January, so start checking your mail box), andreasmarianne.com will contain much more information that hopefully will be useful for all our wedding guests.

Jonathan Smårs has promised to help us create our wedding website, which we are very thankful for, but for now, here is our wedding blog with some of the basic information.

The wedding will be in Linköping, Sweden August 1 2009.

Soon you will be able to see directions, attractions, accomodation, family information, travelling, tourism, pictures and much more at andreasmarianne.com

If you have any suggestions to what you would like to have on the website you can write a comment here, and we'll see if we can arrange that :)

wedding cake test

My results from the Knot's wedding cake test:

The Simple Cake
A round or square stacked cake with a few interesting add-ons is all you need for your cake. Consider adding polka dots to jazz up your cake, or topping it off with your grandparents' cake topper for added personalization.

I find this a bit strange since the pictures I have in my inspiration folder for cakes aren't exactly simple. Usually they hold a pretty minimalistic color scheme also known as; white. (hehe) But other than that I love loads of details. Here are some of my favourite cakes that I've found so far:

Now that I look at the pictures maybe they are right. Maybe I like it simple :)

You can take the test on theknot.com
