for when I'm invited to Elton John's white party :)
I mean it could happen, and it is always good to be prepared!

for some reason studying again
I'm studying for a little while now for my theory test which is in a couple of weeks. Tonight I'm looking at stopping distances, speed limits and warning indicator lights.

In about an hour e are off to the gym. I'm a bit proud of myself because this week I have been to the gym Fri, Sun, Tues and then tonight. I am really trying to get back into shape and I can already feel that my body is coming back to life (if I can use that expression without sounding too cheesy).
Today and yesterday I've been trying to convince Andreas why prettiness is better than practicality (haha! Women out there - can you give me any clues on how to win this discussion?) I really want to get rid of the MALM but Andreas don't seem to be able to let go of it. The only problem now is that I already put an ad up for it and we are getting offers and requests... hihi. Well, we don't have to sell it but potentially I could. Imagine that... "Surprise honey!"

preloved
Look what I just bought for only £30!
.jpg)
I found it on preloved.co.uk and it is a lovely old cabinet. I can't wait to have furniture that isn't from Ikea (although I love thee very much). I am hoping to paint it white and cover the back inside it with some striped wall paper (these are from Laura Ashley).

I'm hoping to have it look something like this in the end.

Andreas keeps saying... "You always just want to paint everything white..." haha. I've also bought some cheap Cath Kidston frabic on ebay that I'm hoping to make some patchwork cushions with for the armchair in the bedroom. We'll see when I'm done if it works out :)

So our MALM chest of drawers from IKEA is now for sale if anyone wants it.

to build a home

I love interior design blogs and whenever I have some time over at work I flicker through them and collect pictures I like and find inspirational. The only problem now is I want to redecorate our flat! I guess I will have to wait until we one day have our own house to go crazy on details. Some of my favourites from this week are:
My favourite blogs are:

Oh and I almost forgot; this song goes very well with the theme :)
It is The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home. I love their music.

his green fingers

Our vegetable garden was a success I'm unsure how many kilos of potatoes, tomatoes, onions and parsley we have gotten this season. It's absolutely amazing!
I am especially fond of the small cherry tomatoes. They taste fabolous. I'm so grateful to Andreas who have been caring for them and watering them. If you have some space in your garden and haven't tried this I really recommend you do. It is such a satisfying feeling to cook food that you have grown youself from seeds. It's a bit of work in the beginning but along the way the main thing is to water.
Last Sunday I made creamy tomato soup with all ingredients from our garden (except from salt, pepper, garlic and cream) so much fun! Now I'm going to make a tomatoe and onion sallad. If you grow your own vegatbles I just want to recommend not to cut of the green stems on the onions and instead use them as an ingredient in the same way as springonions, they are yummy.

realising just how lucky you are
I have some meditative moments in the bus every morning where dreams for the future and smiling over the blessings of today almost overwhelms me with the realisation of just how lucky I am.
I'm not trying to tempt fate mostly because I don't believe in fate. I believe in making the most of what you have. As most people I am not where I imagined I would be 5 years ago, I had plans to go to Australia, to learn to scuba dive. In fact, my biggest dream as a teenager was to be the voice for a Disney character. But despite non of this coming true I am happier than I ever imagined I could be. And it is all because of my friends and family. I cherish all of you and those of you who are not here - I miss you so much.

This weekend was lovely.
Saturday I was worship leading in church and then we were invited to Nat and Travis for lunch. We played Rook and watched the first Bourne movie. We are planning to go through all fo them in the next couple of weeks. They are so good.
New song introduced this Sabbath: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVUB35eC3HM
Yesterday we were quite productive. We played tennis, digged up all the potatoes and onions from our vegetableg arden, made homemade craemy tomato soup with garlic bread (ingredients from our garden), put up the frames with the pictures from our wedding, played tennis with Travis and Nat, washed the car, picked up Prakash and Nathan from the airport.
Tonight I need to prepare for tomorrows first private tuition with my Swedish students. We will be meetin once a week for a couple of moths now. Will be very interesting and hopefully a lot of fun.
It is so nice to not have to study when I get home. To just walk around in the apartment and pick up stuff, cook a nice meal, watched some sitcoms and hang out with my husband. All this extra time does however mean that I have noticed a lot of things I want to add and change in the apartment so now I really want to go shopping for plants and tons of candles to make it cosier now that it is getting darker.

want it
Hunter Wellingtons in Navy. It has been quite groggy and rainy the last week, and these would be perfect when walking to the bus in the mornings.
Lusekofte - traditional Norwegian knitted sweater. Perfect for these cold autumn days and brings back memories of my grandparents and living in Northern Norway.

wedding photos
Tonight I need to do two things:
1. Book the driving theory test - that license will be mine before Christmas!
2. Order some selected photos online so we can get some pictures in the frames we bought last time we were at IKEA. Need to put something on our bare walls.

Can't wait for the pictures to come up. It will make a huge difference in our bedroom which is feeling quite cold with just blue and white everywhere.
