keep going

I am tired of studying. I can hardly find the motivation to finish any of my assignments, and as soon as one is done another one is almost due.
My mind is already on the job that is awiting and I'm trying to imagine what it will be like. Having to work Mon and Tues doesn't reall help. I have to constantly be on an adreline rush to keep up with everything. But the finish line is getting closer whether I will be able to finish it all in time it will someday be over... and on the 29th I will start on my new job. (Although I'll still have all my exams and the dissertation left to do)

Both me and Andreas has a cold now, drinking lemon and eating garlic today. We should probably go to bed now because I have to get up at 5.45.

it's been a while

It's been a long time since I updated you here. Sorry... or not.

I can't find our camera and I personally find it boring to read other's blogs if there are no pictures. But as soon as I find it there will be more.

What has happened:
Ingrid is here now, it's fun having her here.
We finally put up the shelf in the bedroom
Work at Quantum was alright except for having to wake up at 5.45. Those who know me understand that this is torture!
Today I'm being crazy and impulsive and going to watch Avatar for the 2nd time. In 3D of course. hehe.

downhill skiing

Marion Rolland falls after 3 seconds, but the Swedish hope for gold had a pretty dramatic fall.

Happy Valentine's Day

Just woke up actually and it's just past noon... Yesterday we had a bunch of people over for Wii, "chocolate"balls, Nat and Trav brought muffins, and then at 1am we started watching the Time Traveller's Wife. Such a sweet movie, a bit, sad and perhaps a bit confusing if you are really tired because it is not chronological - as you would expect with a time traveller - but it was very sweet. For some reason Eric Bana always charms me in the movies he make. His dark big brown eyes really catches me.

Tonight me and Andreas are going to the cinema to watch "Valentine's Day".

It looks a lot like Love Actually, which has become or Christmas break classic that we watch every year (as well as The Holiday) maybe this one will become our Valentine's day classic.

Now I'm going to get up, eat breakfast and get dressed, and then I have to study all afternoon.

exhausted but happy

This day didn't start the best possible way. I was up working all night on my essay and allowed myself to sleep from 7am+9am. Yes, that's 2 hours. I was stressing with it like crazy, I had 3500 words that needed finishing, and around noon I realised that there was no way I would be able to finish it in time I felt absolutely useless, exhausted and just stupid. Stupid because I had taken on more than I had time to do this last week. I worked full time Monday and Tuesday, went to job interviews Wednesday and Thursday and classes on top of that. Why do I never learn!

I called Taylor to ask her to do the worship leading I for some reason had agreed to be responsible for, and the sweetheart she is she told me she could do it (on such short notice I am more than grateful).

I kept working on my essay and then I got a call from my recruitment agency, he said that we should expect an answer regarding the job at Mizuno (Customer Service Representative for Denmark). After that call I realised that if he calls me back and tells me I didn't get the job I am going to have a break down. I was so tired and my head was spinning and at the same time it felt like my thoughts were standing still.

"He called back and said, I have some positive news for you..." I could feel how I started to feel warmer inside and then... "I am just joking"

Silence... And then he started laughing. And I couldn't help laughing either. I GOT THE JOB!!! (What a joker, luckily for him I have homour)

I now have a full time job about 10 min from here (Winnersh Triangle).

I called the university to hear what their policy on late submissions were and was told that if you are late you get a 10% penalty and after 7 days you only get a pass. I asked if there was any difference if I handed it in at 4.30 or on Sunday and the answer was "Technically no". So I decided it wasn't worth it. i wouldn't be able to make an essay worth 60% in those 2 hours, but I knew that if I worked really hard on it Sunday and Monday I might be able to get it to a 75 and then get 65% after the penalty.

I am still a bit disappointed with myself for not being able to complete the essay in time. I usually always do, but suddenly everything felt much better. I now know that I have a job, no matter how great my grades turn out.

Oh and I now have work on Mondays and Tuesdays, and a voluntary position as an HR assistant so that I can add that to my CV for future references.

Now I am in bed waiting for Andreas to come home, and then I'm planning on sleeping for about 12h...

books and chocolate

Just made some mac and cheese and ate that in bed with all my books. I've been in my bed all day reading, and I'm getting a bit sick of it. Andreas has been outside playing tennis with Travis, and in an hour they're going to the gym.
And now I am having some chocolate just to compensate for his calorie burn I guess :)
I had a "giant turtle" - Danish chocoalte that Thomas brought with him. YUM!

Tomorrow I will have my first day at work at Blueview. I am not sure I am looking forward to it, but I'm trying to stay motivated so that I at least can seem like a positive worker and might get some more work = more money.

Go to www.urbandictionary.com and type in your name and see what it "means"...

Here are the results from my and Andreas' name:

Post your results in the comments below. Fun to see what the rest of you get :)

An HR job? Yes please!

Just got back from Reading, having done a bit of shopping. Bought a grey suit, a black shirt, black trench coat and some tights. I realised I don't have any "work attire" and apparently that's pretty standard in the UK compared to Scandinavia where you usually can wear what you want as long as it is clean and whole :)

A friend from school, Martin (and no he is not gay) helped me. Most of all because he was my ride home. I did tell him he could go home without me, and that I could take the bus, but he was too nice I think to let me do that.

Anyway, my first job, that starts on Monday is as a telemarketer calling in Norwegian to places in Norway I guess. I will get training on the spot, and it's only for two days, so that will be interesting. My second job is the same thing - telemarketing - but at a different place. I will work Mondays and Tuesdays there. (Quantum).

Unfortunately I still haven't gotten any jobs in HR which is what I really want to get into and will hopefully be my future career... I'll just have to keep applying for jobs.

Oh, I got the March issue of Marie Claire in the mail today, so now I have yet another temptation to steal my time away from essays. I have two essays due on Feb 12. One 1000w and one 3500w. hmmm... I need to do those sooner rather than later....

perhaps for valentine's day?

I really like Scorett's copy of Acne's boots. I haven't found these in the UK so if anyone in Sweden or Denmark feel like giving an early birthday present, or maybe for Valentines Day (I wont tell Andreas) that would be very much welcomed.
